Hito Bouin's Plus Solution
Hito Bouin's Plus Solution is designed based on alcoholic Bouin's solution. Compared to the general Bouin’s solution which usually renders soft tissues too brittle for dissection, Hito Bouin's Plus Solution is more suitable and highly recommended for fixation of soft tissues such as brain and spinal cord. This solution causes minimal shrinking or swelling of the tissues.
Hito Bouin's Plus Solution is very compatible with the Verheoff / Van Gieson stain due to its mordanting effect on the tissue. This solution is freshly made from paraformaldehyde powder, picric acid and alcohol. It may be stored at room temperature for six months without change of the original quality.
